  47. Search and Replace looks through multiple files for a string and
  48. can also replace it with another string.  It can search
  49. subdirectories and ZIP files and do case sensitive or insensitive
  50. searches. Extensive support for regular expression (egrep) search
  51. & replacement includes operations that span more than one line,
  52. insertion of the path & filename during replacements, and
  53. incrementing number replacements. Binary search & replace mode can
  54. be combined with regular expressions.  Precise control over
  55. replacements is available through multiple confirmation options
  56. and a built-in context viewer that allows you to view replacements
  57. in- context, before they are made. An HTML Mode can be used to
  58. make html special character code substitutions during
  59. search/replace. Ignore Whitespace mode makes it convenient to
  60. handle spaces & cr-lf during non-regular expression operations. A
  61. built-in script editor makes frequent &/or complex multi-step

  88. The "Wizard" allows you to construct &/or modify regular
  89. expressions for use in our Search and Replace utility. The program
  90. can be used to help you learn the syntax or debug complex
  91. expressions involving many operators. You can visualize the effect
  92. of each of operator in a sample text pasted into the Wizard from
  93. the clipboard or retrieved from disk. Operator effects are
  94. presented in-context, using colors to distinguish the current term
  95. from other parts of the overall expression. When you are
  96. satisfied, the final expressions can (optionally) be inserted the

  106. A multipurpose directory comparison and file manager for Windows
  107. 2000 and above (32-bit or 64-bit) that provides features missing
  108. from Windows. It displays single directory lists or side- by-side
  109. directory comparisons using color coding for alike, different, or
  110. missing files.  Comparisons can be based on dates or a binary file
  111. analysis of file content.  You can copy, move, & rename files
  112. while retaining long filenames and six built- in synchronize
  113. functions simplify updating directories. Built-in archive
  114. functions, with Explorer shell extensions, let you create & manage
  115. archives from Explorer and use Directory Toolkit as your primary
  116. archive manager for supported archives (zip, tar, gz, lz (read

  143. Funduc Software ZIP Extractor (freeware)

  146. A ZIP "self-extractor stub" that lets you turn your ZIP files into a
  147. self-extracting executable that will automatically unZIP the archive
  148. when launched. This allows you to share your zip files with another
  149. person who might not have an unzip software on their computer &/or
  150. who might have only occasional use for an unzip tool. The self-
  151. extractor allows some or all files to be extracted, create the paths
  152. in the zip file (default) or "flatten" the directory structure
  153. (unzip into a single path), or extract some (or all) of the files in
  154. the zip. Cost: Free.

  158. Registry Toolkit (shareware)
  159. ============================
  160.  
  161. Registry Toolkit lets you search &/or replace and edit the Windows
  162. registry.  You can specify the data types to process, start key,
  163. case sensitive, whole word.  Regular expression operations using
  164. an egrep-type syntax are also available.  You can create/edit
  165. keys, values, &/or data manually if you wish.  A unique
  166. 'operations' function lets you move/copy/delete/export values you
  167. select.  For example, you can copy/move keys from one location in
  168. the registry to another.  The program keeps multiple 'undo' files
  169. that can be used to reverse previous changes (10 is the default).
  170. An automatic 'last change' undo is available from the program GUI.
  171. Replaces can be previewed in advance, in- context.  Replaces can
  172. also be previewed in the context of an overall search - a
  173. comparison dialog then lets you select/deselect specific
  174. operations to perform before making the overall replace. The
  175. program can print search & registry browse results.  The .reg
  176. import function allows you to compare existing data vs data to be
  177. imported - specific items can then be selected/deselected.  The
  178. .reg export function can be used to make special .reg files that
  179. delete keys when merged via Registry Toolkit or our new RTMerge
  180. program (see our web site). The various program comparison dialogs
  181. are configurable and their contents can be copied to the windows
  182. clipboard.  The program can read DOS environment variables and use
  183. them in a search/replace. Script file & command line functions are
  184. available for automated &/or complex operations.  Registry Toolkit
  185. will operate on a remote registry (if you have permission to do
  186. so).  The program is for Windows 2000 and above (32-bit or 64-
  187. bit).  A German interface is available. Cost: $25

  191. RTMerge (shareware/freeware)

  194. Registry Merge is a command line utility that merges .reg files
  195. into the Windows registry. While this can be accomplished using
  196. regedit.exe, RTMerge has two added features: 1) The program can
  197. serve as a 'stub file' to automatically apply a .reg as an .exe.
  198. The .exe is prepared in advance. End users can then apply the .reg
  199. simply by clicking on the .exe. 2) The program can apply .reg
  200. files that delete keys. This is something not easily accomplished
  201. via regedit. See the program readme.txt for usage instructions.

  206. Folder Synchronize (shareware)
  207. ==============================

  209. Folder Synchronize is a command-line utility useful to network
  210. administrators and other power users.  It provides a subset of the
  211. functions in our Directory Toolkit utility, namely, the comparison
  212. & synchronize functions.  We created Folder Synchronize for those
  213. who needed those functions but not the GUI interface & other
  214. functions of Directory Toolkit such as archive management, file
  215. operations, etc. Folder Synchronize is a native 32-bit Windows
  216. executable.

  218. Folder Synchronize can synchronize two paths using one of 6 synch
  219. methods. The program can also do a comparison-only. This is useful
  220. with the output report function. When the output report is enabled
  221. it will contain a summary of the path comparison &/or a summary of
  222. the file operations carried out by the synchronize. Other features
  223. include: Switchable display (or not) of a progress meter; A custom
  224. bitmap & message of your choice can be displayed on the screen while
  225. an operation progresses; A 'No Cancel' switch can be used to make it
  226. less easy for a procedure to be interrupted; Require (or not)
  227. confirmation of file operations; Complex include/exclude file masks
  228. that let you include/exclude some file or subdirectories while
  229. including others; Multiple operations can be submitted to the

  234. Folder Synchronize Script Editor (currently freeware)

  237. The 'Script Editor' is used to generate (or edit) script files
  238. that can then be used with Folder Synchronize or our Directory
  239. Toolkit utility. The script switches are presented in an organized
  240. arrangement. The display of related switches can be
  241. collapsed/expanded for readability.

  245. File Merge Express (shareware)

  248. File Merge Express is a file comparison and merge utility for 32
  249. bit Windows. The program displays a contents comparison of two
  250. files and can (optionally) create a third file consisting of the
  251. merge of the two files being compared. That third file can
  252. (optionally) be opened in the built-in text (or binary) editor.
  253. Multiple configurations choices are available for the file
  254. contents comparison and the merge file contents including:
  255. difference prefixes, display colors, whether or not to include
  256. common sections, etc. Command line switch and a script syntax are
  257. available for your automated routines. The program also includes a
  258. Windows Explorer extension that allows you to launch a comparison
  259. from Windows Explorer. Cost: $25

  263. Application Mover (shareware)
  264. =============================
  265.  
  266. Application Mover is a tool that relocates installed programs from
  267. one path to another on your hard disk. Application Mover takes
  268. files found in the path you specify and moves them to a new path
  269. that you specify. Application Mover scans the windows registry for
  270. references to files located in the 'Current' field and changes
  271. those references to the New path. Application Mover also scans all
  272. windows shortcuts in the Start Menu and adjusts path references to
  273. the new program location. Finally, *.ini and Install.log files
  274. present in the original program path are checked for strings
  275. matching the old path location. If found, these strings are
  276. changed to the new location. Confirmation dialogs are available.
  277. If a file is 'busy' and cannot be changed to the new location, a
  278. reboot prompt is offered. Pending changes are then completed after
  279. the reboot. Cost: $15

  283. Application Inventory (shareware)

  286. Application Inventory is a utility that scans your system for
  287. program .exe files and generates a configurable report about the
  288. files that were located. Optional follow-up scans are then
  289. initiated automatically to cross reference the initial scan
  290. results with windows .lnk shortcuts and/or references in the
  291. windows registry.  Further details on files are available from
  292. Properties and References dialogs.  Include and exclude filters
  293. are available to define the initial search by path &/or string(s)
  294. found in file version information. The fields included in the
  295. initial file scan are configurable.  Results be sorted, copied to
  296. the clipboard, printed, or saved in a delimited file you specify.
  297. Application Inventory can also launch windows explorer on the path
  298. containing a file in the results list. Although Application
  299. Inventory is intended as a reporting tool, various windows
  300. properties sheets can be launched that allow you to make edits to
  301. file or shortcut properties. The program defaults to scanning for
  302. .exe files but a special switch is available to scan for another
  303. file type that you specify. Cost: $15

  307. Duplicate File Finder (shareware)

  310. Duplicate File Finder is a tool that locates duplicate files on in
  311. one or more paths.  Unlike other utilities that only check file
  312. names, Duplicate File Finder performs a binary comparison of file
  313. contents and can locate files that are alike regardless of names.
  314. The scan can be defined by path, file mask(s), and (optionally)
  315. with complex filters for size/date/attribute.  Results can be
  316. copied to the windows clipboard or saved to a tab delimited file.
  317. Functions to delete files, launch Windows Explorer, and show file
  318. properties are available.  You can also launch a file in the
  319. results list by double clicking. Cost: $15

  323. Shortcut Doctor (shareware)
  324. ===========================

  326. Shortcut Doctor allows you to check your Windows links/shortcuts
  327. and see which contain targets which can no longer be found. The
  328. program can then delete the shortcuts, resolve them, or carry out
  329. search/replace operations to modify shortcut fields with or
  330. without validation of new paths. Network Drive mappings can be
  331. inserted in the Replace dialog automatically. Individual shortcuts
  332. can be edited and all shortcuts on a drive can be displayed,
  333. regardless of whether they are valid or not. Explorer Internet
  334. URLS can also be checked for problems. CD-ROM drives, network
  335. drives, and specific paths can be ignored during processing.
  336. Includes an Empty Recent Documents button. Script files, run from
  337. the command line, allow you to do multiple operations, control
  338. program options, and easily specify complex paths. A German
  339. interface is available. Cost: $15.

  343. Funduc Explorer Extensions (shareware)

  346. Funduc Explorer Extensions is a collection of enhancements for the
  347. Windows Explorer right-click context menu: a) Encode and Decode
  348. Email attachments - support for UUENCODE, Base64(Mime),
  349. BinHex(Mac), XXENCODE, quoted-printable, 7 bit unencoded, & plain
  350. text, b) Split and Concatenate large files into smaller ones for
  351. storage on floppies & visa versa. Split can be based on file size
  352. or a string found in a file, c) Touch files - change the time,
  353. date, & attributes of files. Touch can add (or subtract) a user
  354. specified time value from the current file time. d) File
  355. Operations - copy/move/rename/delete files using complex file
  356. masks. The program can also change case of file names & number
  357. files. A German version is also available. Cost: $15.

  361. Drive Bar (shareware)

  364. Drive Bar allows you to conveniently open views of your drives in
  365. Windows Explorer. Drive Bar's Auto Hide function allows it to
  366. disappear from view when not in use so that it does not take up
  367. screen space when not in use. You can resize Drive Bar and have it
  368. remain visible at all times if you like. You can also specify a File
  369. Manager program to use instead of Windows Explorer, launch drive
  370. views as "Tiled" or not, not include specified drives in the list of
  371. drive icons, and have Drive Bar run automatically at Windows startup
  372. (see Options). Cost: $10.

  376. Update Toolkit (shareware)

  379. Update Toolkit is command line utility that provides 4 
  380. functions within a single application:
  381. - Moving/copying files
  382. - Changing and checking Windows shortcuts
  383. - Searching and changing the Windows Registry
  384. - Searching and changing text files
  385.  
  386. Update Toolkit is oriented towards administrators who need to
  387. perform these operations on multiple workstations. The program is
  388. launched with a single command line. Because no graphical user
  389. interface is involved, no special steps are required to disable a
  390. program GUI when routines are run on individual workstations.
  391. Progress meters and confirmations are available if you like but
  392. these can be easily disabled. Unlike some other 'program mover'
  393. type applications that give little control over the steps to be
  394. taken, Update Toolkit allows you to specify all aspects of
  395. operation. Furthermore, you can use any combination of the areas
  396. of functioning. For example, you can use the file
  397. copy/more/compare functions and not the other three. Or you can
  398. modify shortcuts and examine the registry but do nothing with the
  399. file or text search/replace functions.

  406. Copy most Windows controls' data to the clipboard!  That's just
  407. one of the features of this freeware program from Funduc Software.
  408. The program can report the type and content of some of the windows
  409. currently displayed on your desktop and for the most popular types
  410. of controls (including lists and trees) it can copy their contents
  411. to the clipboard.  You can also copy the contents of password
  412. fields and regular text boxes. Cost: Free.

  419. DupBlock is a freeware utility that generates blocks of text based
  420. on a template and variables you specify.  The user enters a
  421. default text block and defines the variables. Variables can be
  422. printf- style counters or list variables.  Output can be sent to
  423. the windows clipboard or a file, append mode or not.  An example
  424. use of DupBlock is generating a scripts for one of Funduc
  425. Software's other utilities that uses script files for automated
  426. tasks. Cost: Free.

  430. HexView for Windows
  431. ===================

  433. HexView allows you to view, print, print preview of any file as a
  434. Hex Dump. HexView is intended as a free companion program to our
  435. utility, Search and Replace. However, it is a standalone application
  436. and you are free to use it as you see fit.  The source code (C++
  437. using MFC 4.x or higher) can be downloaded for free from
  438. http://www.funduc.com. A Japanese version is available.

  442. DBComp (Freeware)

  445. DBComp is a database comparison and merge application. The program
  446. performs two basic tasks: 1) The Compare Data Sources function
  447. compare two OBDC data sources for alike vs. different records and
  448. generate a Difference File that lists the records that either do
  449. not match or have been added/deleted from one data source compared
  450. to the other. 2) The Merge function examines a Difference File
  451. generated by DBComp and updates the specified data source via SQL
  452. statements. You can view the SQL statements in advance and remove
  453. one (or more) in advance if you wish. DBComp can be used to update
  454. remote data sources when it is impractical or inefficient to
  455. distribute an entire copy of the database to the remote location.
  456. The program can also be used to examine a data source against an
  457. archived (older) copy for the purposes of debugging or historical
  458. examination. Cost: Free

  462. Decode Shell Extension (freeware)
  463. =================================
  464.  
  465. This very popular freeware app is an extension for Windows
  466. Explorer. The program allows you to decode Internet email
  467. attachments by right-clicking on a saved message file from
  468. Explorer and selecting Decode from the menu. The program supports
  469. multiple attachments, multi-part files (already concatenated),
  470. UUENCODED, Base64(MIME), BinHex (Mac format), quoted-printable,
  471. XXENCODED, plain text files, and User (table) encoded files. If
  472. the attachment contains only one file, Decode Shell Extension will
  473. offer to open it using either the associated program or Notepad.
  474. For virus safety reasons, it will not offer to launch .exe., .com,
  475. .bat, & .cmd files. You should scan decoded Word and Excel files
  476. with your anti-virus checker before loading them. Cost: Free.

  483. Word Search and Replace is a freeware Word macro for Microsoft
  484. Word that can search (and replace) in multiple files you specify

  486. The macro has switched for subdirectory search, 'Pattern
  487. Matching', Case Sensitive, and Whole Word. Cost: Free

  503. PowerPoint Search and Replace rounds out our collection of
  504. freeware find and replace Office Macros. This macro is a
  505. PowerPoint .ppt file that works with MS PowerPoint files using the
  506. find and replace functions that are part of PowerPoint. You need
  507. to have the full version of PowerPoint installed. The macro can be
  508. run as a slide show but it will not work if you only have the
  509. PowerPoint Show Viewer from Microsoft. Cost: Free

  517. TZAdjust, which stands for Time Zone Adjust, is a freeware app we
  518. created for users who find it necessary to make manual changes to
  519. the Windows time zone and 'day light savings' offset parameters.
  520. TZAdjust is probably of greatest interest to Windows NT-class
  521. users. NT/2000/XP returns time information as an offset from
  522. Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). In addition, the OS automatically makes
  523. Daylight Savings compensations when reporting file times. One can
  524. disable "Automatically Adjust for Daylight Savings" entirely in
  525. the Windows Day/Time Properties dialog but there may be other
  526. instances where finer control over time zone and the daylight
  527. offset is desired. Do not use TZAdjust casually. Be sure to read
  528. the information in the 'readme.txt' before using this program.

  536. Expands upon the built-in limit feature for edit boxes and rich
  537. edit controls by letting you set your own maximum size settings
  538. for the amount of text permitted in edit boxes and rich edit
  539. controls.  For example, you could use Limit Edit to set a limit on
  540. the amount of text allowed in an instance of the Notepad text
  541. editor. Separate 16 and 32 bit Windows versions included. Cost:

  555. delivery & announcements, support notes, etc.  Messages can be

  558. containing a list of addresses for bulk delivery.  Recipients of
  559. bulk deliveries are shielded from seeing the other recipients in
  560. the list.  The program checks a POP e-mail account prior to
  561. sending message via SMTP - useful for servers that 'validate' the
  562. users current IP address prior to mail relays.  Version 3.0 adds
  563. MAPI support.  When activated, the program will route outgoing
  564. messages to your primary MAPI-aware e-mail program.  Mail merge
  565. field name definitions, variable names, and data are stored in a
  566. single file containing the data and e-mail addresses.  Variable
  567. names can be anything you like (except for the name of the e-mail
  568. address field). Mail Merge 'Constants' can also be defined.  The
  569. program has a customizable header function that can be used to
  570. send web mail' or 'HTML mail'.  The "To: " field can also be
  571. customized for bulk, non- mail merge deliveries.  Port settings to
  572. use and maximum number of recipients per block can be configured
  573. manually.  Settings and messages can be created via the program
  574. GUI or, once you are familiar with the program, via an external
  575. text editor.  A full complement of command line switches allows
  576. the program to be incorporated into your .bat routines.  A log
  577. file of deliveries can be enabled (or not).  Cost: $25.
